Top Ranjhi Players who never Played Test Cricket for India, Dream Team

TOP 20 ,WHO WERE RANJI SUPER HEROES BUT NOT PLAYED TESTS FOR INDIA

In  Second  parts of  this Series, I  take a  look at  List of  players , who were sensational and Succesful when they played  Ranji matches for their  states or  other  local  matches ( Duleep, Deodhar, Irani Trophy), but never played  Test  Cricket  for  India, even though they were on verge of playing and  few  of them did  represent  India  in  few ODIs  also.( Time Period again is  from 1975 to 2000  for  ease of  selection)

First  I will list  the  contenders  for  various  postions  , and  finally  Pick my Final XI.

1)Openers, many  vying  for  these  2  spots. Let us  start  with Gopal Bose, a Bengal Opener, left hander if I am right of 1970s, who Toured  with  India  team also to West  Indies I think , but never got a chance, supposed  to be a  stylish  player, who impressed  many a  times, even Sunil Gavaskar
The  Next  2  contenders  are  from 1990s, one  from  Maharashrta, Surendra  Bhave, who had  tons of runs  against his  name and  Ranji and  is in TOP 5 Century makers  ever in Ranji History. Next one  is  our Own J Arun Kumar( JAK) extremely talented , twice  was on verge getting into the  India team and  a  great  server  for  State team. Finally most  recent( in sense late 1990s), S. Kotak of  Saurashtra, in TOP 10 highest run getters  of all  time  in Ranji, people  who have seen him say , he was  again a  very  stylish  player , but  was  in wrong time  when FAB 5 of India  were at their peak.

2)# 3  Crucial position,: Shridharan Sharath, from TN, believe  he is only batsman in India , who has an average of  50 +  while  playing more  than 100  Ranji Matches, next player is  Amarjeet Kaypee from Haryana, he is only player to have hit 150 + scores in both Innings of  a  Ranji match,   and  twice  he  was  on door steps  of  test debut, but  did  not happen.  Than there is, MV Sridhar, the Hyderbad  batsman, who  has  367 against his  name and  was back  bone of  HYD  Ranji  for  many  years.

3)# 4, 5  : This  has  max  contenders,  the biggest name  is Amol Majumdar, who still  remains the biggest puzzle  why  he did  not play for India, he  played  along with Sachin and  Vinod, but never  made the cut, for  reasons  unknown, when lesser talented  crickers  could  break thro, He is  second  highest  run getter in Ranji  and  in TOP 5 In century lists  also.   Others  are  two Delhi Batsmen of  different era, Both Captained  their  state  teams, one is  Bhaskar Pillai, who was on reserves twice and  other  Mithun Manhas, the # 5 in highest  run getters, a  very stylish player, who should  have been an  ideal  fit for ODI cricket at least .  There is  Yere Goud, who played for  Karnataka  and than for  Many  years  for  Railways , he was  nick  named as  Rahul Dravid of Railways  for his  long  innings batting . Sudhakar  Rao of  Karnataka  who lived  in Shadows  of  GRV and  Patel, played  for  India  in 2  ODIs and  was the  pillar of  Karnataka  batting. Finally, Devendra Bundela, who  retired  recently , and  was  main stay of  Madhdya Pradesh batting for  twenty ++  years.

4)# 6, Not  many all  rounders I could  get  , only  three  came  to Mind, Kartik Jeshwant of Karnataka  , a left arm spinner and very dependable  bat  and  JP Yadav  ,a  medium  pacer  and  useful lower  order  batsman, who played  a  solitary ODI also, third  one  was  B VijayKrishna, a  brilliant left  arm spinner , and a  dashing batsman , many say  he was  better  bowler than what the  figures speak , for may years  was  in Shadows  of  EAS  And  BSC.

5)#7. Wicket  keeper, 3 contenders,  Pankaj Dhramani, a  better  batsman than a  keeper and played for  one ODI  for India, feautres  in Top 20 all  time highest  run makers in Rajni history and  other  is  Surinder Khanna , a  dashing batsmen, played  a  few  ODIs  for  India, was in test team  too but never  played . Last one  is  Vijay  Yadav of  Haryana, again played  few  ODIs, but faded  away

6)# 8 , # 9,  Pace bowlers ,  Many  contenders,  first  one, Pandurang Salgaonkar of  Maharashtra, many say he might  be fastest bowler  in India  to never  have  played  Test  cricket, even cricketers outside  India  had  lot of  respect  for  him. Than there is  Barun Burman of  Bengal, again a  tear  away bowler who was  on test  radar  for  many years, there is  Sunil  Valson, biggest  disaster  I would  say, was in 14 in Victorious  1983  WC  team, never  played a  match and  never  played  again for  India. There was  Abdul  Ismail of Mumbai, many feel was under rated and  should  have played  for India, played along with Karsan Ghavri in state  team. Finally  there is  AW  Zaidi, again  one more  disappointing case, played  for  UP, has  taken 370 ++  wickets , more  than once  was on call for  test  duty , but some  how  missed it.

7)# 10, # 11 , Spinners , many players , two  biggest  names, Rajender  Goel  and  Padmakar  Shivalkar , both  left armers, Goel has  taken 700 +  wickets , highest  in Ranji  and Shivalkar  has taken 550 + wickets, both played  in same  era  of  the  Four  Great  spinners,  so  never  got their  chances, both of them played , right upto  their  40 age  in Ranji matches.Than  there is  Kanwaljit  Singh,of Hyderabad another  great  off spinner  played  for  his  state  team for  20 ++ years . There  was RS Hans , who played  for  UP  and  was  in India  Squad  once , but could  break into Playing  Eleven .There was  Sarkar Talwar of  Harayana  again, off Spinner who played  with Goel, there was  S Vasudean  of  Tamil  Nadu,  who played  with  Venkat and  was  his  partner  in many  Victories

So my  Final  XI  goes like  this:( balancing of  team kept in mind)

Gopal Bose,  Surendra  Bhave, Shridharan Sharath, Amol Majumdar ( Captain), Amarjeet Kaypee,, Pankaj Dharmani, (WK), B VijayKrishna, Pandurang Salgaonkar, AW Zaidi, Rajendra Goel, Kanwaljit Singh,
